JOURNALPLUS®
JournalPlus ®
is an innovative educational model offered to physicians exclusively through the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences. This program design
is based on physicians' well-documented preference for learning through peer-reviewed journal articles. JournalPlus ® combines the appeal of a
peer-reviewed journal article with a practical question and answer session between one of the article's lead authors and a thought leader
whose expertise allows for the posing of poignant questions. The questions and answers provide a supplemental commentary that helps
translate the study findings into clinical practice. The program typically provides one hour of continuing education credit and includes
an evaluation/testing component allowing one to report on how the newly gained knowledge will impact their daily work habits.
Monographs
The
Annenberg Center has produced a wide variety of print-based continuing education programs, including a "Peer Perspectives" newsletter format
where experts provide commentary on poster presentations from major clinical meetings, or a survey of relevant peer review publications.
This program has been well received and provides a unique way of providing timely dissemination of important clinical information
relevant to the target audience.
